CHALLENGING ADVERSITY
. . . AND WINNING!

Wade, age 3

PDD - Does Your Child Have a Serious Disability?

Hearing that your child has PDD, Autism, Tourette’s Syndrome, Asperger’s, epilepsy, Down Syndrome, (or any other handicapping conditions) is probably the most painful news any parent can receive. You have no idea how you are going to deal with it, what will it mean to you personally, how it will effect your marriage and your family over the coming years.

Do You Feel Completely Overwhelmed?
Suddenly, it feels like your life has been turned upside-down, that every aspect of your being has changed. You may find it extremely depressing to look down that long road ahead of you. There seems to be a lot more responsibility than you ever bargained for. You may feel that you can't possibly cope with the added time and effort required to care for a "special needs" child, in addition to taking care of your spouse and your other children, not to mention the stresses of everyday life that we all experience. But I want you to know that you can do this.

You may feel that this is more than you can handle. That you won't be able to have the good quality of life that you have worked so hard to accomplish for you and your family. You can have a good life, a life that is actually fulfilling. You may find that hard to understand or believe right now, but my husband, court and I agree that our lives have been rich and full because of our children's special needs, not in spite of them.

How Can You Avoid Becoming
Bitter or Unhappy?

Perhaps you feel bitter, unhappy, full of despair. This is not what you had planned for you or your child. I have created this website to help people just like you and me, because this is the kind of help I needed but couldn't find, as we struggled to raise our children.

Please Understand, You Are Not Alone! We've Been There!
I can help you overcome the devastation you felt when you discovered that your child has a disability.

I remember the grief, disappointment, and confusion I felt as we learned that three of our four children experience Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, Tourette Syndrome and epilepsy (in varying degrees and combinations), but I had no idea the impact caring for them would have on our lives. However, raising our children has been a tremendously fulfilling experience that has brought us a great deal of joy.

It Is Absolutely Possible For You To Have A Great Life! Please, Let Us Help.
As I observe other families who have a special needs child, I feel a great desire to share with them the things we have learned; those things that have made our life good.To contact us click here
